The Nationwide strike by the University Teachers Association of Ghana has entered it’s third week.
Public university teachers across the country declared a nationanwide strike a few weeks ago in demand for better conditions of service.
Following the declarations of the strike the National Labour Commission, NLC ruled that the strike declared by the association is illegal and directed that university teachers return to the classroom.
However, many local branches of the Association has held meetings during which they passed the resolution that their strike by until further notice.
This strike has left many students stranded on many public university campuses more than two weeks after they reported to school for academic work to begin.
But the Education Ministry says it is working behind the scenes to get members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana back to the lecture halls.
