A lecturer of the University of Ghana Professor Ransford Gyampo has sent a message to the Government of Ghana with regards to their current strike action.
Speaking in an interview with Metro Television, Professor Ransford Gyampo stated that they do not eat negotiations nor meetings.
The University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG went of strike a few days ago due to poor conditions of service which they have been fighting for many years.
Professor Ransford Gyampo explained that it has become clear that the Government of Ghana does not understand any language apart from strikes.
He said “Our members have simply said that there are so many bottle necks, cunning and deceitful Strategies being employed to outsmart university teachers who taught policy makers.
We are prepared to fight for our conditions of service, nothing more and nothing less. This is not a struggle against Government, it is not a struggle or fight that teams up with the opposition, it has everything to do with our conditions of service which we feel are very poor and we must work to articulate the matters such that they are addressed by the Government.”
