The volta Regional directorate of the Ghana Education Service have called on the various head teachers of the Second Cycle institutions in the Volta and Oti Regions to stop dismissing students unilaterally.
According to the letter from the regional directorate to all headmasters in the two regions, the GES indicated that, as much as they agree with Heads and their Managements to enforce rules and regulations in Schools, the enforcement of such rules must be done according to due process.

The letter further urged heads of the various Second Cycle Institutions to desist from taking such decisions which are in sharp contrast to the policy directives of the Service because, the School Rules and Regulations proposed by the National CHASS Conterence in 2016 at Sunyani has not yet been approved by the Ghana Education Service Council and therefore cannot be enforced.
