Kennedy Agyapong, an aspirant seeking the flagbearer position within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made his appearance at the party’s central office to address the party’s disciplinary committee on this day, August 29, 2023.
His presence at the committee session follows his summons in relation to alleged threats and accusations aimed at President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the recent Special Delegates Conference held on Saturday.
The party’s disciplinary committee convened to investigate and gather clarification regarding the assertions Kennedy Agyapong made in a widely circulated video.
The video in question captured the Member of Parliament for Assin North expressing forceful statements towards the president and vice president, in connection to perceived mistreatment of his representatives.
In the video, his words were unequivocal, “President Akufo-Addo, I will give you a showdown in this country, I swear to God. Vice President, I will give you a showdown for chasing my agent away. I swear to God. You will hear what will happen here. I swear to God, I will challenge President Akufo-Addo big time.”
Kennedy Agyapong’s arrival at the party headquarters transpired with an array of vehicles in a convoy, accompanied by a contingent of his supporters.
Upon his arrival, he was received and welcomed by his adherents. Subsequently, he was guided into the designated committee room, where he is anticipated to undergo inquiry from the panel members.
In addition to the proceedings involving Kennedy Agyapong, the committee’s agenda also encompasses interactions with other party members, including Hopeson Adorye and Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Charles Dokyi Yaw-Addo, and Musa Sulemana. These individuals are summoned due to reported deviations from established election protocols and allegations of misconduct.
