The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has issued a statement in response to recent discussions surrounding the procurement of iPad keyboards for members of the Board of Directors. The statement aims to provide clarity on the matter and address the concerns raised by stakeholders.

“The request to purchase iPad keyboards was based on the Board’s adoption of the “CONVENE” App which is part of efforts to reduce the use of paper and stationary during board meetings, while at the same time, enhancing productivity and collaboration among members.”

However, the statement stated that management has not given approval for the procurement of the keyboards. As a result, no procurement transactions have taken place, and the reported budget of GH¢67,500 for the replacement of keyboards is inaccurate.

According to the Deputy Information Systems Manager, Mr. Enoch Tettey Martey, who signed the request on February 26, 2024, has not indicate any authorization or subsequent action taken by management.
