We didn’t promise a perfect Ghana – Oppong Nkrumah

Former  Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who happens to be the current minister for Works and housing, has clarified  government’s stance on creating a perfect Ghana for its citizens.

According to him , while the government made promises to improve the lives of Ghanaians, it did not pledge perfection, and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto did not mention it.

During an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Citi TV, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah emphasized that although the government has made significant progress, many Ghanaians still face difficulties.

He acknowledged the challenges but highlighted the strides made by the ruling government in stabilizing the economy compared to the previous Mahama administration.

“We are not in a perfect place, but we have made significant progress since January 2017. We have fulfilled many of our promises and commitments. In comparison to our peers in the NDC, we have also made substantial progress,” he stated.

He further pointed out that despite the drop in inflation from over 50% to around 20%, which still poses challenges for many, it is essential to consider the overall trend and the progress achieved since the government assumed office.

While acknowledging that some promises remain unfulfilled, the Minister of Information assured the public that the government would continue to work towards fulfilling those commitments.

“Some specific promises have been achieved, but others are yet to be fulfilled. Life is a continuous process, and we will build upon these achievements,” Oppong Nkrumah assured.
