The Electoral Commission of Ghana has reiterate that Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the President-Elect of the 2020 Presidential Election.
A statement put out by the Commission indicated their attention has been drawn to a video in circulation which indicates that the Chairperson of the Commission announced Mr. John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s President-Elect which is false.

The commission in their statement further added that the commission had only declared Candidate Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo as winner and President-Elect of the 7th December, 2020 election.

NANA ADDO-DANKWA DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO IS PRESIDENT-ELECT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA
The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a video in circulation, indicating
that the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission announced Mr. John Dramani
Mahama as Ghana’s President-Elect. The Commission states that this video is
doctored and is not a true reflection of what was declared.
The Commission will like to reiterate that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the
President-Elect of the 2020 Presidential Election having obtained more than fifty percent of the total number of valid votes cast as enshrined in Article 63:3 of the 1992 Constitution.
This declaration has subsequently been gazetted by the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL).
We entreat the public to disregard the video as it is false.
