North Tongu Constituency Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry John Amedzro has expressed worry about political scheming in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.
According to him, one cannot tell what exactly is Ken Ofori-Atta in the scheme of things under Akufo-Addo’s presidency.
“When a lion is found of visiting the market, it will be treated as a puppy so the adage goes. Ordinarily, at his age one will be restrained in the way issues concerning him will be addressed but that cannot be the case now considering the mood into which Ghanaians have been foisted in.”
He explained that, the actions and inactions of Ghana’s president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is actually putting those who are properly trained to respect the elderly in a fix, reasons one can’t fault anyone who decides to be critical of him anymore because there’s a limit to what anyone can take.
“The president’s campaigns, promises and subsequent election into power gave some glimmer of hope to the Ghanaian populace, little did we all know that it was going to be a family project and that, if you don’t belong, it will just be a mirage.”
“From the appointment of anything Addo Dankwa and Ken Ofori-Atta into positions of trust, to the PDS, Agyapa, galamsey, all skewed to benefit the selected few. These, notwithstanding, one might be tempted to ask what exactly is Ken Ofori-Atta in the scheme of things in His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s presidency?
“First, with all the so called “men” that the NPP boasted of having and the fact that, they criticise vehemently the appointment of just a family member into office by JM, he Ofori-Atta was chosen over seemingly astute others as finance minister.”
“We were told he virtually allegedly moved his databank staff to the ministry, what for, I don’t know but I believe your guest is as good as mine as to their role in the thick of affairs too.”
Jerry John Amedzro said, it was also stated publicly that, Ken Ofori-Atta’s databank allegedly benefited hugely, anytime our dear country is misled by him to borrow money from the international capital market, what that means to our laws, especially the one that has to do with conflict of interest, he will leave to the lawyers which am not.
“The dodging of accountability in relations to the cost of the president’s travels (Private jets renting spree) the dubious accounts rendered in the case of the Covid-19 funds, the secret release of public funds to fund a private pledge of a cathedral without the representatives of the people: parliamentary approval and the subsequent referral of same to the committees of finance and health for further scrutiny by the speaker of parliament are just a few of the hatchet jobs he has done so far for the president.”
“The worst of all his dealings is how he has rendered Ghana a cash trapped country, saddled with debts, maybe due to his databank’s book running role and the benefits therein in those transactions.”
“To think that, this was a man who was so vociferous on economic matters, more especially on borrowing, when it comes to the reign of his predecessor Hon Seth Tekper and his advice to him Seth Tekper that one cannot borrow his way out of trouble, it is so shocking that he has added almost 400 billions Ghana cedis so far to Ghana’s debt portfolio.”
“He managed together with the mother serpent of corruption and the chief of all lies to lure unsuspecting electorates then into believing that, he has the magic wands to make life better for Ghanaians, not knowing, there is a more profound agenda, far more important to them than the national agenda.”
“Today, he has safely landed us as a proud nation that he claim we are, which has the resources available and which must find the resources from within, in destination he described earlier as an abode meant for the incompetent, the criminal and the clueless.”
“In fact, the reason the president can’t replace Ken Ofori-Atta and even kept the finance ministry portfolio for this Bible quoting, white wearing deceptionist is something most Ghanaians can’t fathom.”
“As for his answer that, he can’t abandoned his children at this time, its an insult to Ghanaians because one wonders where his fatherly traits were when he refused to pay NABCO trainees, teacher and nursing trainee allowances after making several noise about them just for political gains.”
“Where was he when even national service personnel’s allowances were in arears? School feeding program and the current shortage of food stuffs in the second cycle institutions, is enough to force concerned Ghanaians to ask, if he has shed off his fatherly role before allowing all these things to happen to the very citizens he claim he is a father to.”
“Mr president, you have the “men” we are sitting on money, it’s bad economic management that is why we are hungry so please reshuffle your ministers and faces like Ken Ofori-Atta, the finance minister, Afriye Akoto, the Agric Minister and the Health minister, Kweku Agyemang Manu, we don’t want to see again be it in ministerial positions or ambassadorial positions ,for; they have caused more harm than good.”
“Listening president as you claim you are, it’s Ghanaians prayer that, you sack those non performing ministers and replace them with the so called men that you claim you have so we have some respite.”
“We want the nation’s agenda to be pursued not a family agenda. Life in this country under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Ken Ofori-Atta is becoming increasingly difficult and there seems to be no end in sight. Do something Mr President.”
