What man attempts to put asunder; the Good Lord tightly holds together -John Mahama echoes

John Dramani Mahama, the former President, couldn’t resist taking a jibe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the inauguration of James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North.

Quayson’s swearing-in ceremony took place on July 4 under the auspices of Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin. Quayson emerged victorious on June 27, defeating NPP candidate Charles Opoku by a substantial margin.

Accompanied by Mr. Mahama, leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and prominent NDC figures, all donned in white attire, Quayson’s swearing-in was a moment of celebration.

In a social media post, Mr. Mahama extended his congratulations to Gyakye Quayson while subtly mocking the NPP for their loss in the by-election.

Mr. Mahama’s post reads: “What man attempts to put asunder; the Good Lord tightly holds together. Congratulations, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, on your swearing-in, yet again, twice within the same parliamentary term, as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency.”
