While not confirmed, some insider information has revealed potential names that cannot be ignored when considering a running mate for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Among the names being considered, one of them is strongly favored to pair with the Vice President in the 2024 elections.
Sources close to Dr. Bawumia’s camp indicate that prior to his election as the party’s flagbearer, there were many consultations and considerations about who would become his running mate if he were to declare flagbearer.
The information from our source suggests that the party needs a unifier who appeals to all factions and camps within the party.
All things being equal, the current Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, is being strongly considered as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 general election, given his expertise and popularity within the New Patriotic Party.
