Denkyira: Wife of Assemblyman involved in the killing of Major Mahama
Yaa Ampofowaa, the wife of William Baah, a former Assemblyman convicted for the 2017 murder of Major Maxwell Mahama has publicly appealed for a reduced sentence, citing the devastating impact it has had on their family.

During an interview on Adom FM, Ms. Ampofowaa shared the hardships they have endured since her husband’s incarceration. As the main provider for the family, his absence has forced their three children to drop out of school due to financial constraints, plunging them into a difficult situation.

As a single mother struggling to make ends meet through small-scale businesses, Ms. Ampofowaa expressed her distress at being unable to afford her children’s education. She acknowledged the support received from her husband’s family but emphasized the ongoing challenges, particularly the children’s constant inquiries about their father’s whereabouts.
Driven by their plight, Ms. Ampofowaa expressed her hope that a potential reduction in Mr. Baah’s sentence would bring some relief to their struggling family.
Presently, Mr. Baah is among a group of twelve (12) individuals serving life sentences for their involvement in the heinous murder of Major Mahama.
