2022 WASSCE begins with 422,883 candidates from 977 schools

The 2022 West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) begins today, Monday, 1st August, 2022 across the country.

The examination commences which with project work subjects in the country on Monday, 1st August, 2022 will end onĀ 27th September 2022.

According to the report from the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), a total of 422,883 candidates from 977 schools have registered for the examination.

In a statement, Minister of Education Dr. Yao Osei Adutwum extends his best wishes to all candidates who will be writing this year’s West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination from Monday 1st August 2022 to 27th September 2022.

“Together with your parents and teachers, our dear nation has made great contributions over the past three(3) years of your education, and now is the time for you to finish well and excel.”

“I encourage all candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, and teachers to observe all COVID-19 safety protocols as you write the exams devoid of all forms of examination malpractices.”

The Minister assures all candidates and the general public that his Ministry is working hand-in-hand with the Ghana Education Service, West African Examination Council, and the Security Services to ensure a smooth and peaceful examination at all the designated centers across the country.

“Once again, I wish my dear final year Senior High School students the very best in the WASSCE.”
