2024 Single Spine Salary Structure Chart
The Single Spine Salary Structure for 2024 has been released for Public Sector workers.
The Government of Ghana, represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), and Ministry of Finance (MoF) has concluded negotiations for the 2024 Single Spine Salary Structure Base Pay.
The Minister for Employment and Labour Relation (Hon. Ignatius Awuah), Secretary General for TUC (Dr. Anthony Baah), Chief Executive, Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (Ing. Benjamin Arthur) and the Chairman of FORUM (Dr. Issac Bamfo Addo) in a released agreement notice dated 14th November, 2023 signed the agreement release.
The negotiations’ outcomes are as follows:
Agreement on Base Pay for 2024 Terms of Agreement
1. That the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) has been increased by 23% across board from January 2024 to June 2024
2. That from July 2024 to December 2024 the Base Pay would be re-adjusted to 25%
Terms of Agreement
Upon series sittings for negotiations, the FWSC and representatives have agreed on a fair increment. Below is the agreed rise for 2024 Base Pay and the full Terms of Agreement as released by FWSC.
1. That, the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) has been increased by 30% across board for the year 2024 at the existing pay point relativity of 1.7 percent.
2. That, the effective date for the implementation of the 2024 Base Pay shall be 1st January, 2024.
IN WITNESS whereof the Parties herein have set their names and hands this 12th day of January, 2024.

Sample Calculation on 2023 Single Spine Salary Structure Increment
23% Increment, January 2024 – June 2024
For instance, if you are giving 23% and your base pay (single spine monthly salary) is ¢3,100.34
Your new base pay will be ¢3,100.34 plus 23% = ¢3,100.34 + 713.0782= ¢3813.42
Gross pay = base pay+ retention premium.
But, retention premium will be = 15% of the new base pay (¢3813.42).
Retention premium= ¢3813.42×15% = ¢572.013
Hence, New Gross pay = New base pay + new retention premium= ¢3813.42+ 572.013 = ¢4385.433
Therefore, your new gloss pay will be 4385.433 effectively January 2024.

25% from July 2024 – December 2024
It calculated on base pay.
For instance, if you are giving 25% and your base pay (single spine monthly salary) is ₵4385.433
Your new base pay will be ¢4385.433 plus 25% = ¢4385.433+ 87.70 = ₵4,473.133
Gross pay = base pay + retention premium.
But, retention premium will be = 15% of the new base pay (¢4,473.133).
Retention premium= ¢4,473.133×15% = ¢670.97
Hence, New Gross pay = New base pay + new retention premium= ¢4,447.133+ 670.97= ¢5,118.10
Therefore, your new gloss pay will be 5,118.10 effectively July 2024.
