The Minister for Communication and Digitalization has again expressed her worry over the reluctance on the part of Ghanaians to re-register their sims using the Ghana card.
The Minister in an address said the statistics she has been given shows that 90% Ghanaians who are yet to re register waited till the deadline was very close before moving to offices of network operators to participate in the exercise making the place quite rowdy and ch aotic.
Hon Ursula Owusu said “The statistics indicate that there was a 90% drop in sim registrations as soon as the first deadline was extended on 21st March. Until a week ago, there were no queues at any registration center. People started rushing to register when they realized the deadline was imminent after going to sleep when it was extended”.
Mrs Ursula Owusu advised that people participate in the exercise more willingly and freely rather than wait till the deadline is so close especially now that there has been an extension.
