It’s still unclear after a week now when authorities of Burkina Faso open the Bangra Dam which has cause a major stir from upper East to North East.

Speaking on souce fm 100.1 in Bawku municipality monitored by Coverghana.com.gh, the Member of Parliament for Binduri Constituency Hon Dr Robert Kuganab Lem has expressed his worry over the current government’s posture towards his constituents and the people of kusaug kingdom.

Hon Dr Robert Kuganab Lem has called on president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately dispatch team together with himself to the scene and get his first hand information about the current devastations the people are going through.

People from Bawku West can’t move to and fro Bawku. According to him, the parliamentary caucus are currently taking steps to ensure government listen to the cries of the people. He has indicated that the leader of the caucus, Hon Mahama Ayariga is currently in the region and will access the situations on grounds.

Dr Robert Kuganab Lem has indicated that, H.E president Nana Akufo-Addo does not care about the plight and the current situation his constituents are going through. “if indeed the president is someone who is having the people at heart, he will have cut off his tour in the Bono region and rather move to the area with a helicopter, he would have move from Bawku area to Burkina side where the dam is station and be able to get a lasting solution to this perennial misfortune.” He said.

“If president Nana Akufo-Addo cares about the lives of my people he could have provided some means of transport that can carry the stranded people across the bridge while putting up measures to curb the situation.” He said.

Dr Robert Kuganab Lem has noted that, this disaster is beyond the MMDCEs and local government, this is a national disaster and government must show interest in it.

“We as MPs are currently considering to raise the matter in the floor of Parliament on Tuesday for government to come down to the aid of our people since his demeanor isn’t showing remours to the people for losing their valuable resources on this misfortune.”

He has also added that, president Akufo -Addo together with his appointees are very insensitivity to the plight of the people. “if indeed he cares about my people, our people he (Nana Addo) will have or director his regional minister to issue a statement to console with the people who have lost their items or the regional minister will have moved to the scene but as I speak the regional minister together with the presidency look unconcerned while our people are still struggling to get survival.” He explained.
