The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is accusing president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for sponsoring thugs, hoodlums and military personnel to intimidate Ghanaians across the country from participating in the ongoing Electoral Commission’s new voter’s registration exercise.

The National Democratic Congress during it 9th Weekly Press briefing today, 4th August, 2020, has provided an evidence based on intimidating and attack by an alleged NPP thugs on Ghanaians at some registration centres at Banda Bongase in the Bono Region, Ketu South of Volta Region and some parts of Oti Region.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra, the National Communications Officer of NDC Sammy Gyamfi has shown videos of a state-sponsored discrimination and unlawful prevention of thousands of Ghanaians belonging to various ethnic groups, including Ewes, people of Northern descent and other non-Akans from registering at various registration centers across the length and breadth of Ghana.

Sammy Gyamfi further described the situation as a clandestine agenda by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to deploy voter suppression through ethnocentric discrimination to rig the upcoming December 2020 polls.
