KT Hammond is an avid defender of the current government and has recently been in the news for chairing a committee investigating a conflict of interest claim against the finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta.
Although the minister was cleared of any wrongdoing, rumors have been circulating that Hammond could become a substantive minister, particularly after the resignation of the longest-serving trade and industry minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.
Despite speculation about the president reshuffling his ministers, no official announcement has been made. According to a local resident, Chukwu Joseph, the people of Adansi are hopeful that the appointment of Hammond as a minister will address their concerns and bring about change.
