Akro Senior High Technical School at Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern Region has been temporarily closed down after some residents attacked students over the assault of two suspected thieves.

After school authorities and officials of Ghana Education Service met with the Paramount Chief of the area, Nene Sackitey, a decision was made to close down the school.

After the closure of the school temporarily had been communicated to the students, some of the students were seen leaving with their bags.

On Friday the 21st of January, some  students physically assaulted two persons who invaded their campus claiming they are thieves.

Sackitey Emmanuel Kpabitey and Odoi Solomon, the suspects were rushed to the St. Martin’s De Porres hospital by five Police officers who interceded after the headmaster had called the Police.

One of the suspects, Sackitey Emmanuel was declared dead on arrival at the hospital by health authorities and the other Odoi Solomon in critical condition according to Joynews.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital for autopsy.

Armed residents who claimed the two were innocent after the incident, stormed the campus and attacked some students despite the throwing of stones.

Superintendent Doris, District Police Commander of Odumase Krobo explained that she sent some Police officers to the school to deal with the situation.
