Asogli State explains reasons for rejecting Kennedy Agyapong’s gifts

The Asogli State has explained its decision for rejecting gifts from Mr. Kennedy Agyapong.

The Assin North legislature Kennedy Agyapong had his gift rejected over the weekend by the Asogli State when he went to present them as his support for this year’s Te Za (Yam Festival).

The explanation, which came with a press release, indicated that a request made by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong was rejected because of several loose comments and utterances he had made and deemed unbecoming of an honourable Member of Ghana’s Parliament.


Kennedy Agyapong was accused of five different statements that made headlines which were considered to be uncomplimentary and insulting, hence the decision to reject his gifts by Togbe Afede XIV of Asogli State.

The Asogli State, in a statement signed by the Secretary Stephen Tetteh, unveiled some unpalatable comments and its corresponding dates made by Kennedy Agyapong against Togbe Afede XIV and the Asogli State.

3. Togbe Afede is corrupt, he supervised fraudulent withdrawal of 31 million cedis from NIB – November 7, 2018

4. Togbe Afede is ethnocentric and an NDC stooge, his name can never intimidate me – November 8, 2018

5. Even the President cannot stop me from chasing Togbe Afede out as NIB Board Chairman – November 13, 2018.

The secretary, Stephen Tetteh, who supervised the distribution of invitation letters, accepted his administrative lapses for sending an invitation letter to Kennedy Agyapong.

He has also and apologized to the Asogli State Council and Mr. Kennedy Agyapong.
