Auditor-General asked to audit expenditure of the office of Chief of Staff

The Auditor-General has been asked to commence an audit processes into the expenditure of the office of Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare Addo.

Mensah Thompson of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has called for an enquiry into the expenditure of the office of the Chief of Staff.

Mensah Thompson, in referring to the recent attribution of dolling of cash to MPs and influencers to the Office of the Chief of Staff, has indicated that, it is high time the Auditor General commissions a special enquiry into the activities of the Office of the Chief of Staff.

According to him, there has been no hen laying golden eggs in the Office but the level of extravagant expenses that keeps emanating from that offices leaves so much to be desired.

Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, known as Afia Schwarzenegger, recently indicated that, she received an amount of GH¢50,000.00 from the office of the Chief of Staff as a donation for her father’s funeral.

Kennedy Agyapong had also earlier indicated that, he was given an amount of GH¢120,000.00 to be deposit into the account of the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo by the Chief of Staff.

Mensah Thompson further indicated that, the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament should also proceed to invite Antie Frema to tell the source of her benevolence as Ghanaians keep hearing from her office and how those monies are not properly accounted for in the budgetary allocations to the Office of the President.
