Information picked by Coverghana.com.gh suggest that, a Value Added Tax (VAT) Invoice Booklet is miraculously missing.
This information was publicly announced by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to the general public.
MISSING VAT INVOICE BOOKLET
Explaining further, GRA has noted that, in a situation where VAT Invoice Booklets are issued to companies or individuals and have been reported missing, the following procedures are followed for the public to assist GRA to retrieve the VAT Invoice Booklets.
When an Invoice is issued legitimately to a registered company and got missing:
1. This invoice is reported missing by this company.
2. The company MUST report to the police before informing GRA officially with an evidence of that report.
3. Because the VAT invoice is GRA property, GRA is mandated by law to publish this missing invoice for public notice so that when anyone is issued any of these VAT receipts or invoice then it could be traced.
According to Management, these steps are taken so that no one will fraudulently use this invoice to make income without paying the due tax.
