An Australian mining firm has threatened a suit against Ghana over issues of concession being taken over by another mining group.
According to reports, this law suit will claim a lot from the country if pushed through by the Australians.
The Australian mining firm, which operates by the name, Cassius Mining Limited, alleges that Ghana stayed quiet and allowed another mining company, which is the Shaanxi mining group trespass on its concession.
The Cassius mining firm and Shaanxi Mining Company have both been operating in the Upper East region of Ghana for some time now and have their concessions opposite each other.
Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources has spoken to the issue and confirmed that the Suit has not been effected yet.
The Minister explained the situation as a misunderstanding between the mining groups and has assured Ghanaians that they at the Ministry of Lands are working on means of settling the issues amicably.
