Bakpa Youth Empowerment Foundation (BaYEF) executives
The youth of Bakpa, in the Central Tongu District of the Volta region have successfully launched Bakpa Youth Empowerment Foundation (BaYEF).
The Bakpa Youth Empowerment Foundation, BaYEF is a newly incorporated youth led and youth driven organization. Over the years, youth development has become a major concern for individuals, organizations, governments etc. BaYEF has been incorporated to empower Youth holistically for selfactualization and community development.
At a ceremony held on the 18th December 2020, the Bakpa Youth Empowerment Foundation was duly launched.

The launching brought together various dignitaries including Mr Seth Oteng – the CEO of Youth Bridge Foundation. Mr Samuel Saga Avusu – Chairman of the Bakpa Development Association & CEO of Finest Oil. Mr Yao Semorde – Volta Regional Director of the National Youth Authority. Mr Abraham Nyidawu- Presidential Staffer. Mr Samuel Agbevem – Partner Ernst & Young and many more distinguished guests.
Also in attendance were chiefs and queen mothers from the Bakpa Traditional Area. Heads of various institutions and the youths from various communities.

In the launching, the Executive Secretary of Bakpa Youth Empowerment Foundation, Mr. Harmond Harry Nyaleduadzi in his welcome address stated that BaYEF has identified the most challenging societal challenges such as; poor education, Enhancement of Peace and Community Unity, Equity and Diversity, Cultural and Spiritual Diversity, Gender Equity and Equality, Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Livelihoods, Youth Inclusiveness, Youth-driven, Youth Service, Mainstreaming Youth Issues, Sustainable Environmental Development, Transparency, Accountabilityand Accessibility.
The foundation has distinct strategies that will enable us achieve our goals; e.i Quality Education and Skills Development, Youth Employment and Sustainable Development, Youth Leadership and Political Development, Youth in Community Development, Children and Gender Equality, Information, Communication and Technology, Youth Data and Research, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development, Culture Values, Sports and Recreation, Youth Health and Environmental Development.
Disunity in Afram Plains North and South; a premier factor of underdevelopment
The Executive Director Mr. Samuel Agbevem in his speech indicated that, BaYEF has come stay and to ensure that youth entrepreneurship and quality education among Bakpa citizens becomes the focus points to the foundation. He urged the young men and women to protect themselves as the future leaders of Bakpa by growing their mind for future endeavours.
He also highlighted the the immediate measures in place to ensure that BaYEF has come to lead the youth to successful future.
The Regional NYA Director commended team BaYEF for the initiative and encourage them to be resolute to make their vision possible.
Use Christmas to develop the reading culture in children – Parents advised
The guest speaker, Mr CK Eleblu enumerated the Importance of the youth focusing on their brain development and that the biggest gift to have is a focused and developed brain.
In launching the foundation and the Bakpa Youth Policy, Mr Seth Obeng expressed his gratitude In the partnership between BaYEF and YBF. In his launching speech, he urged the leadership of BaYEF not to limit themselves to only Bakpa traditional area alone but rather let their impact be feel at every part of Volta Region.
