Balloting of schools for Preliminary Stage of NSMQ 2022 released

Primetime and management of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) have released full list of balloted schools for Preliminary Stage of NSMQ 2022 National Championship.

The launching and balloting which took place today, Monday, 3rd October, 2022 at the New Conference Hall of GNAT Hall, Accra saw how schools were paired into different categories for the upcoming contests.

Ahead of the balloting, Primetime released a list of schools categorized into three (3) Pots thus: Pot A, Pot B and Pot C.

At the end of the balloting, participating schools were paired into groups of three (3) for each contest at the preliminary stage.

In all, there are thirty-nine (39) groupings for the preliminary stage. The first contest will feature the Northern School of Business, Sunyani SHS and Nalerigu SHS. The second contest will feature Osei Tutu SHS, Nifa SHS and Boso SHTS up to the contest 39.

According to the organizers of the NSMQ, winners of the 39 #NSMQ Preliminary contests and 15 Top Runner-ups will progress to the One-eighty Stage of the competition.

Primetime has announced that, the 2022 NSMQ is scheduled to take place from 10th October, 2022 to 26th October, 2022 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.

Primetime expect to build in a Science Fair component to the programme, so as to make it a Science and Maths Festival, which would then become even bigger and more interesting for the students and schools to participate in. It is believed that this would encourage students to put what they learn in their classrooms to practise and thus help them become innovative.

The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is the longest-running independent production on television in Ghana. The programme is very popular with not only its main target group, Senior High School students but also with parents and, especially, with former students (old boys and girls), who take great pride in the performance of their schools on this programme.
