Bawumia and Samira take covid-19 vaccine; Urges Ghanaians to do same to eradicate the deadly virus

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged all Ghanaian citizens to come out in their numbers to take the Coronavirus vaccine.

Speaking at a short ceremony at the Police Hospital in Accra, Dr. Bawumia said it is in the collective interest of all Ghanaians to take this vaccine so that, together, we can eradicate this deadly virus from our country.

He has also used the opportunity to urged all Ghanaians to reject the conspiracy theories of naysayers and fully cooperate with the vaccination programme.

Dr. Bawumia said after he went to the Police Hospital in Accra together with his wife Samira Bawumia this morning to receive the covid-19 vaccine.

This was after the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo had taken the vaccine at the 37 Military Hospital earlier today ahead of the mass vaccination Programme.

“Being the first Ghanaians to take the vaccine is to publicly demonstrate our confidence in the safety of the vaccine and also to encourage our fellow citizens to do same.” Dr. Bawumia said.
