Windham Lawrence Rotunda was a professional wrestler from the United States. He was best known for his time in WWE, where he wrestled under the ring name Bray Wyatt from 2010 until 2021, and then again from 2022 until his death in 2023.
Rotunda was a third-generation wrestler, following in the traditions of his grandfather Blackjack Mulligan, father Mike Rotunda, and two uncles, Barry and Kendall Windham. Taylor Rotunda, better known as Bo Dallas, is his younger brother and also a professional wrestler. He and his brother held the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship twice while wrestling in WWE’s then-developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) between 2008 and 2012. From 2010 to 2011, he performed on WWE’s main roster as Husky Harris, most notably as a part of The Nexus.
Rotunda was relaunched as Bray Wyatt after returning to WWE’s developmental division, which had been rebranded as NXT. He returned to the main roster in 2013 as the villainous head of The Wyatt Family, a bayou-dwelling cult, with Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. He went on to become a three-time WWE world champion, holding the WWE Championship once and the Universal Championship twice. He also held the SmackDown Tag Team Championship (with Luke Harper and Randy Orton under the Freebird Rule) and the Raw Tag Team Championship (with Matt Hardy) once apiece.
Wyatt returned with a new gimmick after a sabbatical from August 2018 to April 2019. He was portrayed as having transformative multiple personality disorder, as he alternated between two characters: his “good side” of Bray Wyatt, a Mr. Rogers-esque children’s TV show, and his “bad side” of The Fiend, a monstrous horror-themed monster clown. He left WWE in July 2021 but returned in October 2022 with a new character who claimed to be his “real-life” self but eventually re-incorporated his numerous identities as well as some new ones.
