CAGD salary payment date for March 2022 revealed

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) salary payment date for March 2022 has been disclosed.

In an earlier communication announcing payment of Salaries and Wages for the 2022 financial year, Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem, the Controller and Accountant-General said, March 2022 salary is supposed to be paid on Friday, 25th March, 2022 to Government of Ghana (GoG) workers.

Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem explained that, the various banks will start crediting the accounts of employees from the dates announced and that any change in the dates will be communicated to the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Assemblies and respective Banks.

It’s rather sad to not that, since 25th March, which was announced by CAGD as salary payment date for GoG workers, there has been no official communications thereafter.

Workers across the country are expressing their dissatisfaction in authorities because, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government through the Ministry of Finance and the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department could not pay March salary to the Public Sector Workers as of Thursday, 31st March, 2022.

The delay in payment of salary in 2022 especially March has become a worrying situation to most Public Sector workers especially teachers in Ghana.

Government workers express worry over delay in March validation for salary payment

The disappointed teachers, confronted the National Executive Officers of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) to provide an information on the persistent delay in payment of March salary as the executive officers tour the Volta and Oti Regions.

Addressing the concerns of the frustrated teachers in an engagement at Akatsi Senior High Technical School in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region on Thursday, 31st March, 2022, the General Secretary of GNAT, Mr. Thomas Musah Tanko explained that, he has been hinted of payment of March salary in next week.

Mr. Thomas Musah indicated that, with the information available to him, by Friday, 1st April, 2022, salaries of Government of Ghana workers will be credited to their various banks and payment will be effected in next week.

This, according to Mr. Thomas Musah Tanko was the information picked from the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.

The teachers, among other Public Sector Workers have expressed worry and disappointment in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government for the delay in paying March salary.
