Central Tongu NCCE Director urges school children, youth to be law abiding

The Central Tongu District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mama Hodzige Il, has called on pupils of Methodist Basic School, Global Evangelical Basic School and the Youth of the Church to be law abiding citizens and uphold the values that would enable them to become responsible adults.

She made this call on the occasion of the 2021 Annual Constitution Week Celebration which is on theme “We are one, Ghana first”.

She entreats the young ones to refrain from acts that would jeopardize their future and focus on becoming United as a people with a common destiny.

The Director said there is the need to be conversant  with the tenants of the 1992 Republican Constitution which is the longest surviving Constitution in the history of Ghana since it’s coming in to force on 7th January 1993.

She admonished the participants to study and know the laws in order to demand for their rights irrespective of who they are and remember to be responsible citizens. The directorate also engages various groups such as Hairdressers. Tailors, Zoomlion Workers among others to mark the celebration.
