RT Hon Speaker Agboni Nicholas Kelvin and Atlantic Hall Master Prof Francis Andoh Kwaw
Mr. Nicholas Kelvin Agboni, CEO and Founder of CoverGhana, has been appointed Speaker of Parliament of the 13th Atlantic Hall House of Parliament at the University of Cape Coast for the 2024/2025 academic year.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in his leadership journey, as he assumes the esteemed role of RT. Hon. Speaker, succeeding RT. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao.
The handing-over ceremony took place on August 24, 2024, at the JCRC of Atlantic Hall, where he was officially sworn into office by the Hall Master, Prof. Francis Andoh Kwaw.
In his remarks, Mr. Agboni expressed deep gratitude for the appointment. “I am deeply honored to assume the role of RT. Hon. Speaker of the 13th Atlantic Hall House of Parliament for the 2024/2025 academic year, succeeding RT. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao.”
He further pledged to lead with integrity and dedication, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that all Mariners’ voices are heard and respected. “As we embark on this new journey, I pledge to lead our Parliament with unwavering integrity and dedication, ensuring that the voices of all Mariners are heard and respected in every parliamentary proceeding.”
Mr. Agboni called on his colleagues to work collaboratively for a successful and impactful year. “Together, let us work towards a successful and impactful year, upholding the values and traditions that make the House of Parliament and Atlantic Hall strong.”
Reflecting on the significance of his appointment, he described it as a “great honor to receive the throne of speakership and to lead the next House of Parliament.”
Prior to becoming Speaker, Mr. Agboni served as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Atlantic Hall House of Parliament, demonstrating his leadership capabilities and commitment to the Hall’s development. His previous role provided him with valuable experience, preparing him for the significant responsibilities he now assumes as Speaker.
Under Mr. Agboni’s leadership, the Atlantic Hall House of Parliament is poised for a year of progress and effective representation for its members.
