The Minister for Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has opened a three-day Energy Sector Retreat for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Board Chairpersons of the Energy Sector agencies as well as stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the Minister for Energy indicated that, the energy sector has an important role to play in the economic development of the country.
He also added that, despite the numerous efforts by the agency heads, there are still issues that need to be given the necessary attention and to improve upon.
Dr. Mathew Opoku further indicated that, he is confident of a very productive weekend and that, he looks forward to a frank discussion on how as a team, they can ensure a robust and vibrant sector, particularly due to the strategic position that energy holds in any economy in the 21st Century.
