Dr. Zanetor donates food items and cash to Osu and Adabraka Royal Houses

The daughter of the Founder of the National Democratic Congress and a former president of Ghana who represents the people of Klottey Korle Constituency in Parliament Hon. Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has donated assorted food items and cash to the Osu and Adabraka Royal Houses.

As part of her social contract with the people, she has donated food items and some undisclosed amounts of money to the traditional leaders in OSU and Adabraka towards the 2020 Homowo Festival Celebrations.

The donation which has been part of her annual contribution to the traditional festival was made over the weekend in Osu and Adabraka.

Dr Zanetor was accompanied by some Constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and members of her secretariat to the various royal houses to present the items.

The assorted food items included over 60 maxi bags of maize, bags of palmnut, gallons of palm oil, over 60 cartons of red fish and the symbolic fish used for preparing Homowo ritual food traditionally known as Tsile.

The items were distributed to over 30 royal houses in Osu and Adabraka including both the Osu New Road and Old Road Royal Gates and the Adabraka Atukpai Stool.

While presenting the items, Dr. Zanetor who is passionate about Ghanaian tradition values underscored the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.

She used the occasion to pledge her continued support for cultural activities in the constituency.

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings who is a member of the Environment Committee of Parliament urged the traditional leaders to use the festival to remind the residents of the importance of protecting the sanctity of their environment.

She however assured the traditional leaders she would join them for the celebrations.

The Elders who received the items expressed their gratitude to the MP and wished her success in the impending Parliamentary Elections in December.

They also offered traditional prayers and asked God’s blessing for the Klottey Korle lawmaker.

Some of the royals also offered her good counsel and assured the MP of their support to succeed.
