The Oti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mobarak Diplomatic says the hung 8th Parliament of Ghana has produced a positive result for the already ailing Ghanainans.
According to him, since the pronouncement of the Electronic Transaction Levy by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in his presentation of 2022 budget last year, the unpopular E- Levy has become a deadly monster faced with several backlashes from stakeholders and the general public leading to back and forth in the 8th parliament.
“As we commend the minority group in Parliament over a stiff opposition to the imposition and passing of the Electronic Transaction Levy, we have to also appreciate the Good people of the country for giving us a hung 8th parliament.”
SALL deserve Representation in Parliament and must not be the President – Mobarak Diplomatic
“The good show been demonstrated by minority group is dependent on their numerical strength as a result of a hung Parliament. This is a good opportunity to hold the Government accountable on every single policy they would want to approve in Parliament.”
Mobarak Diplomatic believes that, from all indications, the minority group has an obligation to ensure that, their numerical strength in the 8th parliament yields an expectations of Ghanaians, thus, to continue to fight for the interest of Ghanaian till the E-LEVY is thrown away. “This is the surest way to deepen the already existing amount of trust and confidence in the minority group. Ghanaians have already expressed a deep satisfaction in the minority group for championing their interest in the hung parliament.”

“The slogan of minority have their say but majority have their way is now completely a thing of the past.”
“This killer E- Levy tax has become the most unpopular policy ever thought of by the Government. If indeed lack of broader consultation has amounted to the stiff opposition from not only the minority but also the cross section of the public, it would therefore meant that, the Nana Akuffo led government has not only failed Ghanaians but also all stakeholders who matter in the Nation building processes. say a big No to the unpopular Electronic Transaction Levy in any form or shape.” He explained.
