The Electoral Commission of Ghana under Mrs. Jean Mensa, the Electoral Commissioner has issued a statement to political parties inviting them to attend Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting.

In a sample letter addressed to the General Secretary of the United Progressive Party (UPA) signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Commission of Corporate Service Dr. Bossman Eric Asare for the Chairperson, stated that the meeting well be held on Wednesday, 27th May, 2020 at exactly 2:00pm.

The meeting which is scheduled to take place at IPAC Room, Electoral Commission will be centered on updates of the 2020 Registration Exercise toward the December 7, 2020 general Elections.

According to the letter, in order not to defy President Akufo-Addo’s directives on social gathering of not exceeding twenty-Five (25) persons, the meeting will be divided into two groups. In view of this, each political party is expected to present only one (1) person to represent their party. Find attached, copy of the letter.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has earlier issued a guideline that the Commission will follow to register citizens using the Ghana card and passport as an eligibility requirement towards the compilation of a new voter’s register for the conduct of the December 2020 polls. Below are the guidelines for the exercise.
