Eid ul-Fitr: Woyome donates to Muslim community in South Tongu

Mr. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome, the Lawmaker for South Tongu Constituency has toured the Muslim community in his Constituency to celebrate this year’s Eid ul-Fitr with them.

The Member of Parliament, as part of his annual support to the Muslim community has donated some assorted food to climax the Eid Mubarak celebration.

Mr. Woyome, made the donation to three Muslim Zongo Communities in the South Tongu District. These include, Dabala Junction Zongo, Dabala Zongo and the Sogakope Zongo the South Tongu District Headquarters of the Zongo communities.

The items donated to the three Muslim Zongo communities in the District include, bags of rice and cartoons of cooking oil.

The MP, while addressing the Muslims calls for unity, peace and togetherness among his constituents and must support one another towards the development of the area.

He appealed to the general public to avoid tribal bigotry and making derogatory statements against each other as being witnessed in other part of the country. “Let’s embrace our differences in unity and togetherness so as to avoid division among us.” He said.

He also addressed the current religious discrimination among authorities in some educational institutions during the Ramadan season and said, Ghanaians are one people since independence and nothing should divide us.

“The founder of Ghana brought all Ghanaians together under one umbrella, let’s not allow certain individuals who wants to achieve their parochial interest to distort the peace of the country. Let’s not be divided by diversity of our religion, let it brings us together to learn new things” He said.

The Member of Parliament also used the occasion to congratulate all Muslims for completing the Holy Month of Ramadan, and wish them Allah’s blessings moving forward.

“Let’s continue praying for everyone, especially those who couldn’t get the opportunity to enjoy this privilege.” Mr. Woyome said.

Sheiek Umaru Osumanu, the Chief Imam for South Tongu and his Sub-Chief Imams who received the items on behalf of Muslims in the District expressed their profound gratitude to the MP for the gesture shown them.

They also thanked the National Democratic Congress, especially South Tongu NDC for their continued support to Muslim community.

May he continue to bless you and your household, let him expand your proactive leadership skills for the continued development of the South Tongu Constituency.” The Imams prayed for Hon. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome.

The MP was accompanied by some party Constituency executives and sympathizers during the tour cum the donation to the Muslim community.
