The Electoral Commission of Ghana has unveiled its comprehensive programme of activities for the upcoming 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. The schedule includes various steps, from voter registration to the declaration of election results. All dates listed are subject to review and may be adjusted as necessary.

The registration of voters will commence on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024. The registration period will span several weeks, concluding on Wednesday, 15th May, 2024, eligible citizens are encourage use this  opportunity to register and obtain their voter identification cards.

In addition to the registration process, EC  has planned activities such as the IMAC Meeting, RIPAC and DIPAC Meetings, and publicity campaigns to raise awareness about the limited voters’ registration. Gazette dates and centers for voters’ registration will be announced, ensuring transparency and accessibility throughout the registration process.

Moreover, the commission has scheduled IPAC Meetings to discuss modalities for the limited voters’ registration and the transfer of votes, proxy voting, and special voting. These meetings aim to facilitate effective communication and collaboration among political parties, ensuring a smooth electoral process.

Following the registration phase, the provisional voters’ register will undergo an exhibition period. This allows citizens to verify their information and address any discrepancies. The exhibition will take place from Thursday, 6th June, 2024, to Thursday, 20th June, 2024. During this time, citizens are encouraged to review the register and report any necessary changes or concerns.

The Electoral Commission has also set dates for the submission of the provisional voters’ register to political parties and the sitting of District Registration Review Committees (DRRCs) to address registration challenges.

The climax of the electoral process will be the election day, set for Saturday, 7th December 2024, Ghanaians will exercise their democratic right to vote and choose their representatives for the presidential and parliamentary positions.
