The University of Education, Winneba, as part of its public education on programmes being offered in the University has outlined entry requirements for prospective applicants who desire to study Diploma Programmes.
Management of the University classified the Diploma Programmes under three main categories. These include, Diploma in Basic Education, Diploma in Early Grade Education and Diploma in Education.
This is contained in the admission documents for College for Education and E-Learning (CODeL) design for Distance Education Undergraduate and Post Graduate manual for 2021/2022 Academic Year.

Below are the full requirements for studying a Diploma Programme at the University of Education, Winneba.
DIPLOMA IN BASIC EDUCATION
Applicants must possess any ONE of the following:
1. WASSCE with credits (A1 –C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics
and Integrated Science/Social Studies
plus credits (A1 – C6) in any two (2) elective subjects.
2. SSSCE with Credits (A – D) in Five (5) subjects comprising three (3) Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics
and Integrated Science/Social Studies
plus two (2) elective subjects.
3. Mature applicants must be 25 years or above (Refer to ‘Definition of Terms’ for details).
4. Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from a recognized College of Education or
Institution.

DIPLOMA IN EARLY GRADE EDUCATION
Applicants must possess any ONE of the following:
1. WASSCE with passes (A1–D7) in three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics & Integrated Science/Social
Studies plus credits (A1 – C6) in in any three (3) elective subjects.
2. SSSCE with Credits (A – D) in Six (6) subjects comprising three (3) Core
Subjects: English Language, Mathematics & Integrated Science/Social Studies plus any three (3) elective subjects.
3. Mature applicants must be 25 years or above (Refer to ‘Definition of Terms’ for details).
DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION
Applicants must possess any ONE of the following:
1. A bachelor’s degree in any relevant field of study.
2. A tertiary Diploma or a Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent from any accredited tertiary institution
3. An Advanced/Part III Certificate in a trade subject.
NB: This programme is by Direct Entry only. Diploma in Business Studies (DBS)
qualification alone cannot be used for admission into this programme.
