Financial Clearance to recruit teachers to be out in November 2021 – Ministry of Finance

It appears the 2020 batch of Newly Trained Teachers from the Forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education are in dilemma as their recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES) is delayed.

The teachers are worried because, this is the first time ever the recruitment of Newly Trained Teachers has deleyed since the introduction of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination and National Service in 2018 by the government of Ghana through the Ministry of Education.

But, at the back and forth of discussions concerning the recruitment of Newly Qualified Teachers, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has disclosed when the Financial Clearance for the recruitment of Newly Trained Teachers will be released.

According to the Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Abena Asare Osei, the Financial Clearance for recruitment of the teachers will be released in early November, 2021.

She explained that, the Ministry of Education led by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has presented a list of forty thousand and ninety-three (40,093) graduates to be recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES).

According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, the number include Teaching and Non Teaching staff from the Public College of Education (CoE) and Universities.

Madam Abena Asare Osei said this on 21st October,  2021 in a meeting with the leadership of Newly Trained Teachers Forum (NTTF), a group fighting for the posting of Newly Trained Teachers from the Forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education.

The Newly Trained Teachers are very expectant for the announcement of the Financial Clearance from the Minister of Finance for their Recruitment into the Ghana Education Service as promised by the Ministry of Finance.
