Foli Meshack Yao appointed as Speaker of UCC Atlantic Hall House of Parliament

Rt. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao, a level 300 student offering Social Science in Education at the University of Cape Coast and an affiliate of the Atlantic Hall has been appointed as the Speaker of Atlantic Hall House of Parliament.

Rt. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao will serve as the Speaker for the 12th House of Parliament of the great Atlantic Hall, UCC for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Rt. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao took over from Rt. Hon. Gideon A. Amoah as the speaker of the house.

Rt. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao together with his two deputies, bench leaders and other executives were sworn into office during the Atlantic Hall handover ceremony held on Sunday, 6th August, 2023 at the Hall’s quadrangle.

Prior to his appointment, Rt. Hon. Foli Meshack Yao served as the deputy chairman for the legal committee, and also served as the majority chief whip of the ATL House of Parliament.

Before his appointment, he was serving as the deputy majority leader until his recent elevation to the highest seat of the house.

He was a member of the Electoral Committee for the just ended TEIN UCC elections. He was the school prefect at Kwamikrom RC Junior High School (JHS) during his basic school education in 2016.

He served as the Bible Studies Coordinator for Catholic Students Union and a prayer secretary for AGCM assembly of God at the Kpando Senior High School in 2019.

He is currently serving as the secretary for Kpando Old Students Association (KOSA) UCC chapter.
