The Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture in a counter press statement, signed by Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi (MP) and Minister, issued another directive that state; all food chains, restaurants, hotels can operate while drinking bars, all night clubs remain closed.
Earlier, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has issued a press statement lifting restrictions on drinking bars, all night clubs to operate under strict observation of social distancing protocols. Some Ghanaians, after seeing the earlier statement jab the GTA for their decision to allow drinking bars and night clubs to operate in the midst of Coronavirus pandemic.
The Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture has dismissed the release from the Ghana Tourism Authority. In the new press statement, the Ministry of Tourism Art and Culture is asking the general public to note that this circular supersedes the one issued by the
Regulator. Read below the statement.
DIRECTIVES FOR HOSPITALITY SECTOR
The Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture has taken note of the circular issued by the Ghana Tourism Authority and captioned as above.
The Ministry wishes to clarify the directives as follows;
1. Food Chains and Restaurants including Hotel Restaurants) can operate takeout and delivery services only.
2. Drinking Bars remain closed.
3. All Night Clubs remain closed.
The public is to note that this circular supersedes the one issued by the
Regulator.
