Former Zebilla MP, Lawyer John Ndebugre is dead

Former Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency, John Akparibo Ndebugre has passed on at age 72.

His sudden demise occurred at Zebilla, in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

The private legal practitioner died in his residence on Friday may 6, 2022, after a shot illness.


According to our sources, he left behind a wife and four children.

Mr. Ndebugre was a great son of our land who contributed to the law profession and to our nation.

He served under the late former President Jerry John Rawlings led PNDC government and has so much to tell about their relationship until they fell out.

He served as Martin Amidu’s boss as Upper East Regional PNDC Secretary at a point. The two of them have always been friends.

Lawyer John Ndebugre was born on March 12, 1950. He had his secondary education at Navrongo Senior Secondary School in the Upper East Region which acquired him a WASSCE Certificate in Agricultural Science.

Upon completion, he furthered to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to read Bachelor of Science. He was called to the Bar after graduating from the Ghana School of Law.

Lawyer Ndebugre was a member of the People’s National Convention (PNC). He became a Member of Parliament from January 2005 after emerging winner in the General Election in December 2004. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Zebilla constituency in the 4th parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana.

The late John Ndebugre was a Lawyer by profession.

A great tree has indeed fallen in the Upper East Region.
