Joy Fm’s top journalist Gary Al-Smith shared his opinion on why the Black Stars Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso doesn’t merit for another call-up going forward.

According to Gary Al-Smith, a lot of football fans complained about not giving Mubarak Wakaso the full time (90 minutes) to play in other to exhibit his known abilities.

He said, per the recent Japan Vs. Ghana match that ended in 4-1 against Ghana, Coach Otto Addo gave Wakaso the full time or/ fair chance to play but his performance doesn’t merit another call-up going forward (FIFA WORLD CUP Tournament).

In his submission, he tabled some criteria that should have been met in other to merit a call-up going forward, but Mubarak Wakaso failed to meet.

1. Positional discipline  – Off

2. Ball retention  –  Off

3. Successful passes – Off

4. Link up – Off

5. Energetic – Yes

“Since he (Wakaso) couldn’t met the above criteria with his performance, he doesn’t merit a call-up going forward.” He said.

Currently, Wakaso’s form is not encouraging hence, he can’t be used to try many friendly matches at the expense of other young and more vibrant players that can play better than him.
