Management body of the General Transport, Petroleum and Chemicals Workers Union have issued a notice today, 21st December, 2022 to all their members nationwide on an impending industrial strike action against the government of Ghana on the 27th of December, 2022.
The release which came from the Union’s Headquarters stated that their call for this strike is as a follow up to the Organized Labour strike declared on December 20th, 2022.
According to the management, they as a National Union fully support the agitations of Ghanaian workers over the issues around the Pension Funds which are already very low from the Domestic Debt Exchange Program to the expectation of Ghanaian employees.
This call is therefore a strict directive to all their members to refrain from work on the 27th of December, 2022 to express their utter displeasure over the current happenings to the Government.
The Leadership is counting on staff to respect this decision, cooperate and boycott work on the said dates to ensure that the right thing is done.
