GFA: Black Stars Head Coach search committee announces application deadline

The Committee responsible for finding a new Head Coach for the Black Stars has announced that the final deadline for submitting applications for the position is Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee assigned a five-member Committee led by GFA Vice President Mark Addo to search for a new coach for the Senior Men’s National Team, the Black Stars.

The Committee has been given the task of identifying suitable and competent coaches for consideration, even if they have not applied for the position.

Coaches who are interested in coaching the Black Stars are reminded to send their applications, including their curriculum vitae (CV) or resume and a mission statement, to the Search Committee via email at recruitment@ghanafa.org before the aforementioned deadline.

GFA JOB DESCRIPTION – HEAD COACH

1. The Head Coach will be responsible for the overall management of the Senior Men’s National Team, including player selection, tactical planning for training and games, and ensuring the team’s performance.
2. The Head Coach will oversee the general technical direction and supervision of the Black Stars.
3. The Head Coach will be required to enhance the capabilities of the Black Stars’ Technical Team.
4. The Head Coach must stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in football tactics and development.
5. The Head Coach’s football philosophy should align with or complement the GFA’s principles.
6. The Head Coach should collaborate with the Technical Directorate to identify and nurture young talents for the national teams.
7. The Head Coach must have the ability to scout new talent for the national team, which may involve traveling within the country or internationally to assess players’ performances.
8. The Head Coach will be expected to engage with the media, including announcing squad selections and participating in pre-match and post-match interviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. The Head Coach should have a proven track record of success in coaching top men’s national teams or club football.
2. They must possess the highest football coaching license and have at least 15 years of experience in the field.
3. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability in team reconstruction, organization, and the development of young talent.
4. They should be a disciplined individual with strong leadership skills and tactical acumen.
