Ghana Police Service battles with robbers in Awutu Bereku

The Ghana Police Service has been engaged in a shootout with some suspected robbers in the Awutu Senya West District. According to Awutu Bereku Police Command, the suspects engaged in the shooting were three in number.

The police also said, the robbers took hold of a Kia taxi with a registered number GR 6013-21 at Madina. According to police, the suspected robbers made a barrier at the Awutu Bereku located at the Winneba highway.

According to some eyewitnesses, the robbers started shooting after they noticed presence of the police. They dashed quickly after been signaled to stop, the police them sped after them which lead to the shootout.

According to the police and some witnesses, the suspected robbers couldn’t stand the the shooting hence fled to the bush around leaving behind the Kia taxi.

The police also added, the Kia taxi seat was seen with some blood stains which implies that the suspected robbers were shot during the shootout. The service is beseeching the public especially the health service to quickly report to any near by police station on any suspicious injury at their premises.
