Government pays 4 out of 7 months arrears of Teacher Trainees allowances

The Government of Ghana has paid four (4) out of seven (7) months arrears of Teacher Trainees allowances across the Forty-six (46) Colleges of Education in Ghana.

The Teacher Trainees allowance was in arrears for seven (7) months thus; May, June, July and August 2021 in the last academic year (2020/2021) while January, February and March 2022.

Out checks have confirmed that, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has duly disbursed allowances which was in arrears for May June July and August 2021 to Teacher Trainees in the Colleges of Education on Thursday, 28th April, 2022.

In counter confirming this, the National President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) Mr. Jonathan Dzunu said, four (4) out seven (7) months allowanace have been paid except that, there were some technical hitches where some students have not received the allowance.

Jonathan Dzunu explained that, the leadership of the Association is currently engaging management of Students Loan Trust Fund to ensure that, every Teacher Trainee receive the allowance.

TTAG President has therefore called on Teacher Trainees to remain resolute as the leadership engages all stakeholders to ensure that, the remaining three (3) months outstanding allowances are paid.
