The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Education under the auspices of the Sector Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum together with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has set date to celebrate Green Ghana Day.

The Green Ghana Day celebration was announced in a joint meeting with the Hon. Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Samuel A. Jinapor, the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, today, 24th May, 2021.

In a statement made by Samuel A. Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damango Constituency cum Minister for Land and Natural Resources said, they held fruitful discussions which centered on Green Ghana Day slated for June 11th 2021, eighteen (18) days from today.

He further said, together, government is committed to achieve the goal of one (1) student planting a tree on the day.

“It is imperative, that we inculcate the necessary habit of tree planting in our youth including students as this will save our environment and produce the needed positive impact on climate change.” He said.

In explaining the scope of the celebration, he said, Green Ghana is an initiative for all Ghanaians, let’s go plant five (5) million trees in a day!!!
