Gov’t will soon support vulnerable persons with stipends to start up businesses – Gender Minister

The Honourable Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison during a food distribution exercise held at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra on Monday, 18th May, 2020, announced the intention of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government to to support vulnerable persons with stipends to start up businesses for a brighter future.

Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison who was invited by Rev Fr. Andrew Campbell, SVD, to witness the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and assorted food items to some vulnerable persons in Accra, admonished and pleaded with the vulnerable individuals who were invited for the donation to make good use of the stipends that government will be given out to them. 

In giving an account on the items, Rev Fr. Andrew Campbell noted that, the items presented to vulnerable persons during and after the partial lockdown were donated by certain individuals, organizations and the Church. According to him, the donations were made to individuals who are lepers in diverse ways.

Rev Fr. Andrew Campbell in his concluding statement, called on the Hon. Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison to help enroll some of the vulnerable persons within his area onto the LEAP programme under her Ministry.
