Ho Central MP gifts dozens of Nose Masks to 9 tertiary institutions including HTU

The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Benjamin Komla Kpodo has presented dozens of disposable face masks to nine (9) tertiary institutions including Ho Technical University.

The presentation which took place at the G.M. Afeti Auditorium on Monday, February 8, 2020, saw HTU receiving two cartons, containing 5,000 pieces of masks.

According to the MP, the gesture, which was earlier extended to basic and second cycle schools in the Constituency, was his modest support towards curbing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the schools.

“I want everyone to be safe in my constituency including the schools. So these donations are complementing the efforts of government and the school authorities to protect the students and staff against the virus,”. He stated and stressed on the need for everyone to adhere to the safety protocols.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, thanked the MP for his kind gesture, and added “We should all be one another’s keeper. Covid-19 knows no bounds.”

He also appealed to the MP and the municipal authorities to intensify public education on the pandemic and its preventive etiquettes in markets, where compliance to the safety protocols has been very abysmal.

Present at the ceremony were reps of the 8 other beneficiary institutions including, Dr. Sena Kpeglo, Registrar of the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
