Hogbetsotso Planning Committee Faces Legal Action at Sogakope High Court

The serene town of Sogakope has become the backdrop for a legal battle that has drawn attention across the Anlo Kingdom. The Hogbetsotso Za Local Planning Committee finds itself at the center of controversy as plaintiffs file a lawsuit in the Sogakope High Court, accusing committee members of mismanagement and mishandling of funds.
Titled “Hogbetsotso Planning Committee Sued: A Closer Look at the Case,” the lawsuit has been brought forth by plaintiffs AHIALENGOR ALBERT WA2/1153 and ATSU TETTEH, who are also representing the Anlo Progressive Youth for Accountability and Development (APYAD). The plaintiffs are undertaking this legal action against several key figures, including AWADADA AGBESI AWUSU II, TORGBI ZEWU III, GAS LADZEKPO, CILAS AIDAM, DAN ABODAKPI, and AGBOTADUA KUMASAH.
In the legal documents, the plaintiffs have called for the defendants to answer the allegations within eight days of receiving the writ. Failure to respond could lead to judgments being made in their absence. The allegations presented in the “Statement of Claim” include claims that the defendants have been acting as trustees and fiduciaries for funds that are raised annually on behalf of the Anlo Kingdom/State.
The plaintiffs’ demands in the lawsuit are comprehensive and reflect their concern for financial accountability and transparency.
