Hon. Woyome stocks Adutor Health Centre with Hospital materials worth about GH¢30,000

Honourable Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has donated medical consumables to the Adutor Health Centre

The Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency, Honourable Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has ones again stocked the Adutor Health Centre with some expensive Hospital materials (medical items and consumables).

The Lawmaker made the donation of medical items and consumables to the Health Centre on Sunday, 24th April, 2022 to augment the existing materials at the facility.

Mr. Woyome disclosed that, the items donated to the Health Centre worth about Thirty-Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢30,000.00).

Some of the items comprise Torniquets, Urine Containers, Isopropyl Alcohol, Methylene Blue, Giemsa Stain, Hbs Ag (Hep B) Test Kits, HCV (Hep C) Test Kits, VDRL (Syphilis) Test Kits, Microscope Slide, Syringe ND Needles 2CC, Hairnets, Examination Gowns (H20 Resistance), Non-Contact Thermometers, Urine Pregnosticon Test Kits, Urinalysis Test Strips Combi 2, Urinalysis Test Strips Combi 10, Centrifuge Tubes, Syringe and Needles 5CC.

Speaking at a short ceremony held at the premises of the Health Centre to hand over the items, the Member of Parliament said, the donation was in fulfilment of a promise he made at a recent fundraising durbar organised towards building a shed at the health centre, during the Easter holiday. He promised to support the project with two bundles of roofing sheets and medical supplies when the South Tongu District Health Directorate solicited for his support in that regard.

The items were purchased and delivered by the Member of Parliament to the Health Centre as pledged.

According to the MP, many health facilities in the District need expansion, and gave assurance that, plans are underway to expand these facilities especially, Adutor Health Centre.

He also revealed that, he has acquired additional thirty (30) movable hospital beds which are being fixed for distribution among the various health facilities across the District.

The South Tongu MP added that, it is his plan to have the Adutor Health Centre converted into a Polyclinic in the near future, and would need everyone to support him.

“It’s my aim to support the health sector for quality healthcare delivery. l have good plans for the Adutor Health Centre. Let everyone come on board to support the agenda to convert the facility into Polyclinic” The MP said.

The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Youth, Sports and Culture Committee told the Health workers to make good use of the items for effective healthcare delivery, and also encouraged them to continue their selfless services to residents of Adutor and users of the facility.

The Chief of Adutor, Togbe Lugu Awadali IV, speaking on behalf of the Adutor community has expressed his appreciation to the MP for the kind donation. Togbe is much grateful that, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome has fulfilled his promise within the shortest possible time.

Togbe Lugu encourages the MP to put in more efforts to have the Health Centre converted into Polyclinic. He also appealed to Mr. Woyome to help lobby for bungalows for staff of the clinic.

According to the Chief, he will ensure that, the Traditional area collaborate with other stakeholders to release land for the expansion works and construction of bungalows.

“We have vast land for the expansion of the health centre and building of bungalows. We will make sure the land is released for the project.” Togbe said.

According to Togbe, “Some politicians came to the community, promised and don’t do it, but you [MP] came, promised and quickly fulfilled it. We appreciate that, we hope that, as you promised to expand the health centre, you will response to that as well.”

The South Tongu District Health Director Mrs. Mavis Agumey, who received the items expressed her gratitude to the MP on behalf of the District Directorate and Staff of Adutor Health Centre.

The Director believes the materials will go a long way to improve health service delivery at Adutor and communities around Adutor. “Continue to provide more of such materials to support health delivery.” She said.

Mrs. Agumey again appealed to the Member of Parliament to extend the support to other facilities.

The Adutor Health Centre provide Services to the people of Adutor community, Lolito, Deme, Bekpo, Gonu communities, Blemezado, Dabala among others.

Michael Aguzey, Town Convenor – Mr. Promise Agbanyo, Madam Gladys Bika – a member of Adutor Development Association, Mr. Dodzi Adade – Aide to Togbe Lugu Awadali IV, Mr. Raymond Zewu – Physician Assistant in charge of Adutor Health Centre, Nurses and Midwives of the Adutor Health Centre among others.
